Trump Says He Was Not Told
President Trump said Thursday that he was not aware Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick had visited Epstein Island with his family in 2012. Trump told reporters he had not even spoken to Lutnick about the report, then made clear he was defending the secretary based on what he had heard. He said Lutnick was there with his wife and children, which is a very different picture from the wild rumors the left always tries to cook up before lunch. Trump also drew a hard line between Lutnick’s reported visit and his own record, saying, “I was never there.” That matters because the Epstein story keeps dragging more people into the orbit, and Americans are right to want straight answers instead of the usual media fog machine.
New Documents Put Old Claims Back In Play
The latest reporting says emails and released records show Lutnick’s former company was still connected to Epstein in 2014 and that Lutnick visited the island in 2012, after saying he had cut ties in 2005. The documents also show that Lutnick and Epstein signed paperwork tied to an ad tech company called Adfin on Dec. 28, 2012, with their signatures appearing on neighboring pages. According to the reporting, the deal involved a group of shareholders and included Epstein signing for Southern Trust Company, Inc. and Lutnick signing for a separate LLC. Lutnick had previously told the New York Post that after touring Epstein’s townhouse, he decided he would never be in the room with Epstein again. Yet these newer records suggest the relationship may not have ended as cleanly as first described, which is exactly why people want the full paper trail and not just polished talking points.
A spokesperson for Lutnick pushed back, calling the story a failed media distraction and saying the secretary had limited interactions with Epstein in the presence of his wife and was never accused of wrongdoing. That may satisfy the cable news crowd for about five minutes, but regular Americans know a simple rule: if the facts keep changing, the story is not settled. Trump’s comments also reflect a broader truth in Washington, where many politicians act shocked once the receipts surface and then expect everyone to move on. Not happening. The Epstein network remains one of the most troubling scandals of our time, and every new document only adds more pressure for transparency, accountability, and the kind of daylight the establishment hates.
