Those retired Generals, and all retired military and CIA/FBI etc. need their security clearances immediately rescinded upon retirement.
Presidents and congress people too. If you are not in the government, you don’t need a clearance.
If they need to ask your opinion due to former experience or expertise, have a system in place to authorize access to classified information related to that subject and meeting alone.
