As he shared, “Typically, when you go to the border, you will see groups of people who are trying to cross into the US, but we did not see a single migrant.” This profound change points to the impactful policies enacted under the leadership of President Donald Trump. While the mainstream media seems reluctant to admit the effectiveness of these actions, the results speak for themselves.
Montoya-Galvez went on to describe the scene, “Just feet away from Mexico, our cameras captured a heavily fortified US border.” It’s clear that the measures implemented have not only fortified our borders but have also led to a dramatic decrease in illegal crossings. Reports suggest that even a border patrol agent acknowledged the change, stating, “Activity is very slow. There are multiple factors to why we have seen a significant drop in apprehensions recently. One of them of course is consequences.” This position underscores the notion that firm policies create an environment that deters illegal activities.
The reality is stark and significant. As reported by the Gateway Pundit, the number of border encounters under President Trump plummeted to an all-time low, particularly noticeable in February. In that month, there were just over 8,000 encounters, a dramatic improvement, reflecting a successful deterrence strategy against illegal crossings. Compare this to the prior administration under Biden and Harris, where 140,641 individuals were encountered at the border in a single February. Trump’s policies resulted in a staggering 94% decrease.
Moreover, reflecting back on President Trump’s first term, the numbers tell a story often buried by liberal media outlets. In 2017, the United States documented the lowest figures of illegal crossings in nearly five decades, with only 310,000 entering. Alarmingly, in contrast, over 300,000 individuals managed to cross our border in just December 2023. This stark difference underscores the success of Trump’s hardline stance on border security.
