What the Senate Did
Senators voted to have a plaque installed in the Capitol that honors law enforcement who defended the building on January 6, 2021. The plaque lists multiple agencies and says Congress is grateful for those who protected the Capitol. The installation followed a unanimous Senate resolution asking the Architect of the Capitol to place this marker in the halls of Congress.
What They Did Not Do
At the same time, Senate Republicans chose not to move forward with the SAVE AMERICA Act. Voters who expected action on election integrity and on people charged after January 6 are left wondering why the Senate could arrange a plaque but not pass legislation they support. That contrast looks like a choice of symbolism over policy to many conservatives.
Questions About January 6 Cases
About 1,500 people were charged in connection with January 6. Some were convicted and some remain under investigation or appeal. President Donald Trump issued pardons for a number of people involved that day. Critics say many defendants were overcharged or treated unfairly in courts around Washington. Supporters of the prosecutions say the legal system must hold people accountable for violent or illegal acts.
Deaths and Controversy
Several people who were at the Capitol on January 6 later died, and a few of those deaths were ruled suicides. Families and activists have raised concerns about how some defendants were prosecuted and imprisoned. These cases remain deeply emotional and politically charged. Conservatives who worry about due process see the plaque as ignoring ongoing questions about fairness and government conduct.
Senate Republicans will not pass the SAVE Act, however DID vote in unison to have this plaque hung in the halls of Congress today.

No surprise there. We have the most useless group of “law makers” ever.
The DC Swamp for J6 Swamp & those victims NOT recognized
Yes I’ll leave a comment. Totally discussed with the Senate NOT passing the save act!
I’m with James Wood. They mess around dance around and pretend to handle things
but they are a bunch of tone deaf losers. I’ll not give another cent to these Repub’s.
They are taking up space meant for real competent law makers. Shame shame on
them! Don’t want to hear from another one until they get thier act together which may
be never! If I did my job like they do thiers I wouldn’t have one! They need to be voted OUT!
Focus more on what we really need instead of all the insider trading to enrich themselves!
This is really getting out of hand….
