ICE Shooting Sparks Chaos in Minneapolis

What happened

Federal immigration officers were running a targeted operation in south Minneapolis when a crowd interfered and, according to the Department of Homeland Security, a woman used her vehicle to try to strike agents. An ICE officer fired in defense. The woman was hit and later died. Several officers were injured and are expected to recover. Authorities called the vehicle incident an act of domestic terrorism while the scene was chaotic and officers used crowd control measures.

DHS statement and claim

The Department of Homeland Security said agents were blocked by rioters and one person weaponized a car to try to kill officers. DHS said an ICE officer fired defensive shots to protect lives, and described the act as domestic terrorism. They said more information will be released as the situation develops and investigators work the scene.

City leaders react

Minneapolis city officials said federal immigration enforcement caused chaos and asked people to avoid the area. Mayor Jacob Frey issued a demand that ICE leave the city, repeating past comments warning about enforcement actions. Governor Tim Walz urged calm while his public safety team gathered facts. Local statements blamed the agents for instability even as federal leaders described a violent attempt on officers.

What video and reporting show

Multiple videos posted to social platforms show a vehicle moving into a crowd near officers and then shots being fired. Reports say agents deployed tear gas to disperse the crowd. News outlets and DHS posted on X about the incident as the scene unfolded. Raw video clips circulated quickly online and helped shape immediate public reactions and official statements.

Legal and safety questions

This incident raises basic questions about use of force, the safety of officers and the public, and the responsibility of local leaders. If a vehicle is used as a deadly weapon, officers may be justified in defensive fire. At the same time investigators must gather facts, interview witnesses, and review body cam and other footage. Politicians should let law enforcement and prosecutors complete their work before assigning blame.

Latest video show one Ice officer was hit. So don’t believe the ones that say there wasn’t contact with Ice officer.

More of that mostly peaceful protest thing. Was she agitated to the point of attempted murder by the Democratic rhetoric or was she a paid protester just doing her job.

This was inevitiable. The leftwing politicians have been pushing for an incident like this for months. Now one of their braindead hacks got herself killed and right away they blame ICE. That communist moron Mayor should be taken out to the woodshed and beaten along with Branden Johnson and J.B. Pritzger.
