Byrne’s Investigation
Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne sat down with Pete Santilli for the first installment of a Gateway Pundit election 2026 series. Byrne, author of The Deep Rig and Danger Close and co-founder of the America Project with Gen. Michael Flynn, said he began investigating foreign election technology after the 2020 election. He said he partnered with Gary Burnson and Venezuela specialist Martin Rodil after cartel sources pointed them to a “weapon” that could allegedly fix elections. Byrne said up to 15 Venezuelan defectors worked with the team and that his undercover work took roughly two and a half years. He claimed sources demonstrated equipment that could produce any result, leave no audit trail, and defeat verification. Byrne also said one source told Flynn that a network had manipulated elections for 20 years across 72 countries. These allegations were presented in the interview, and the source material does not independently verify them.
China as the Alleged Main Shareholder
Byrne framed the alleged election apparatus as one arm of a larger Cuban-Venezuelan project, with China as the “main shareholder.” He said the goal was the incremental capture of Western institutions and the eventual collapse of the United States through “movement warfare,” rather than a conventional invasion. Byrne also estimated that around 25% of Democratic votes today may be fraudulent. That is an extraordinary allegation, and the source text presents his estimate without independent supporting data. Election concerns deserve serious investigation, but claims this sweeping still need evidence, not just a confident presentation.
What the Election Security Documents Say
The article connects Byrne’s warning to material President Trump reportedly released in July about electronic voting and ballot-counting systems. He also argued that another Democratic administration could naturalize millions of illegal aliens, making election rigging unnecessary. His recommendation was direct: Trump should use emergency authorities to force a clean election with small precincts, ID and citizenship checks, ballots counted where cast, and voting machines removed. Those are Byrne’s proposed remedies, not actions the source says have occurred.
The Broader Social-Control Playbook
Byrne and Santilli also discussed what Byrne presents as a staged social-control playbook: classification, visual separation, demonization, and preparation. He applied that framework to COVID-era vaccine and mask politics, a subject Byrne has covered in his presentation The Greatest Hack in History. Santilli said the series is meant to educate the public rather than impress insiders, while describing the midterms as a fight over whether a nuclear-armed America is handed to the Marxist project Byrne says has worked against the republic for decades. Byrne ended by calling Gateway Pundit essential in the information war and said, “In our war, the truth is worth a hundred army divisions.”
