Watch: MSM Whitewashes LA ICE Riots as Mere “Protests” While City Burns

The liberal media has once again revealed its blatant bias by downplaying the violent anti-ICE riots that have engulfed Los Angeles, refusing to call the chaos what it truly is—a riot. Despite widespread arson, looting, and attacks on law enforcement, outlets like The Associated Press, ABC News, and CBS News deliberately softened their language, labeling the mayhem as mere “protests.” This deceptive framing is a transparent attempt to shield left-wing agitators from accountability while undermining President Donald Trump’s decisive action to restore order.

The Associated Press published a Sunday article that glossed over the destruction, noting only that “protesters impeded access to a significant freeway and set fire to self-driving cars” while avoiding the term “riot.” Even more egregiously, the AP compared the riots to past unrest in Los Angeles, including the Rodney King riots, in what appeared to be a weak attempt to normalize the violence. The article stated:

“The protests did not reach the size of past demonstrations that brought the National Guard to Los Angeles, including the Watts and Rodney King riots, and the 2020 protests against police violence, in which [Democratic California Gov. Gavin] Newsom requested the assistance of federal troops.”

This false equivalence ignores the fact that masked rioters torched vehicles, hurled rocks and fireworks at police, and vandalized property with slogans like “F–K ICE” and “KILL ICE.” Yet, the AP refused to call them rioters—only “protesters.”

Similarly, ABC News acknowledged the “violent” nature of the demonstrations in its headline but still avoided labeling the perpetrators as rioters, except when quoting ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons. The outlet described “clashes between protesters and police” and “multiple people looting a gas station,” yet shied away from stronger language. Meanwhile, ABC7 Los Angeles anchor Marc Brown shockingly downplayed the destruction, suggesting that law enforcement intervention could turn “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation.”

CBS News followed the same playbook, omitting the word “riot” while detailing how agitators “threw objects at police,” including “chunks of concrete, rocks, electric scooters, and fireworks.” Like the AP, CBS downplayed the unrest by comparing it to past riots, further normalizing left-wing violence.

President Trump, recognizing the danger, swiftly deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order—a move opposed by Governor Gavin Newsom, who has repeatedly enabled lawlessness in California. The riots erupted after ICE arrested over 100 illegal immigrants, including gang members and drug traffickers, proving that Trump’s tough immigration policies are necessary to protect American communities.

The media’s refusal to accurately report on these riots exposes their agenda: to delegitimize Trump’s enforcement of immigration laws while excusing left-wing violence. If these were right-wing demonstrators, headlines would scream “Insurrection!”—but for leftist mobs, the press offers excuses.

Main stream media stating these rioters are “just having fun watching cars burn. “. And having fun watching rocks being thrown at LAPD also??? The mainstream media is more corrupt than the democratic party. These pathetic statements out of their mouths proves these journalists are so arrogant that they can say anything and believe they are the smartest in the room.

Another summer of love start shooing these love children that are destroying our country. OR
Completely pull out all law enforcement and let California burn to the ground. And no federal aid goes to them let pretty boy have to deal with his own state since he doesn’t want Trump’s help.
Newsom is a ball less leader and allowed this to happen he will never ever be a leader of anything typical democrat.
