As Los Angeles burned in the wake of violent left-wing riots, California Governor Gavin Newsom delivered a cringe-worthy, pre-recorded address that was as tone-deaf as it was technically incompetent. The speech, riddled with fake tears and bizarrely missing audio at the start, was nothing more than a desperate attempt to virtue-signal to the far-left mob while blaming President Trump for the chaos his own failed policies helped create.
The liberal media, always eager to prop up their failing progressive mascots, tried to spin Newsom’s dumpster fire of an address as “statesmanlike.” But the truth was undeniable—even CBS and Fox News had to acknowledge the embarrassing technical blunders. CBS noted the audio failure, while Fox News highlighted the governor’s disjointed, pre-scripted theatrics.

Newsom, who has spent years enabling lawlessness in California by shielding illegal immigrants and demonizing law enforcement, had the gall to accuse President Trump of “declaring war” and “assaulting the First Amendment.” This from a man whose state is literally in flames because of his refusal to uphold the rule of law. In his melodramatic speech, Newsom theatrically pretended to tear up while pandering to rioters, saying:
“We all need to stand up and be held to a higher level of accountability… If you exercise your First Amendment rights, please do it peacefully. I know many of you are feeling deep anxiety, stress and fear.”

But where was this call for “peaceful protest” when Antifa and BLM rioters were torching cities in 2020? Where was Newsom’s concern for “anxiety and fear” when his sanctuary policies led to violent criminals being released onto the streets? His hypocrisy is staggering.

Even more laughable was his claim that “What Donald Trump wants most is your fealty, your silence, to be complicit in this moment.” No, Governor—what President Trump wants is law and order, something your administration has repeatedly sabotaged. While Newsom hides behind pre-recorded speeches, Trump is taking decisive action to restore safety, despite a federal judge (likely another activist liberal) refusing to grant Newsom’s desperate bid to block the use of military force against rioters.
