Watch: CBS Host Begs Forgiveness for Saying ‘Mankind’

In the latest display of liberal media absurdity, CBS Mornings co-host Vlad Duthiers was forced to grovel for mercy after committing the unforgivable sin of saying “mankind” in front of Dr. Mae Jemison, the first black woman in space. The exchange, dripping with performative wokeness, showcased how far the left will go to police language—even in the final frontier.

As the crew gathered in West Texas for Blue Origin’s all-female spaceflight, Duthiers attempted to highlight critics who dismissed the mission as a mere “joyride.” But Jemison, ever the social justice astronaut, immediately pounced:

DUTHIERS: You heard Amanda Nguyen tell me in the interview that she’s conducting science experiments on this voyage, which I don’t think a lot of people knew. They thought it was just six women going up into space for a joyride.
JEMISON: Wait, what do you mean just six women?
DUTHIERS: Well, that’s what I mean! That was the criticism!
JEMISON: It is six women.
DUTHIERS: That’s right!
BURLESON: Right. Right. Right.

Co-host Nate Burleson weakly defended Duthiers, but the damage was done. The CBS host then compounded his sins by daring to suggest space travel benefits “mankind”—prompting another scolding from Jemison:

DUTHIERS: So, explain to our audience why even a trip like this one, all the trips that we take into space, benefit mankind.
JEMISON: Um, so, it benefits humankind.
DUTHIERS: Humankind, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

Jemison wasn’t finished. She declared she would “keep correcting the mankind and the man-made, and the man-missions because this is exactly what this mission is about, is expanding the perspective of who does space.” Apparently, in the progressive utopia, even grammar must bend to gender ideology.

But Jemison’s wokeness didn’t stop there. She bizarrely claimed Earth “no longer has an atmosphere that supports our life form”—an odd statement for someone who, you know, breathes oxygen. She also dismissed the awe-inspiring view of Earth from space, insisting she felt “bigger” because she was “connected to something so much bigger than where we think we are.” Forget humility—apparently, space travel is just another opportunity for leftist self-aggrandizement.

The entire segment was a masterclass in liberal media self-parody, where language policing trumps scientific discussion, and cosmic wonder is replaced with ideological posturing.

At first, I was undecided, about Dr. Jamison. However, after further consideration, I changed my mind. She is petty and rude. Henceforth, I will ignore her.

Guessing Jemison was knowledgeable enough to actually go in to space but is totally ignorant as to the term “mankind” referring to ALL humans. Guess she has trouble with “huMAN”, “MANhole”,”MANatee”, “MANufacturing”, “adaMANt”, “woMAN”. “alMANac”, “batMAN’, “MANual”, etc
