These refugees, fleeing horrific violence, racial discrimination, and targeted persecution under South Africa’s oppressive regime, were warmly greeted by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and DHS Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar. Proudly waving American flags, the refugees symbolized hope and gratitude for a nation that still stands as a beacon of freedom—a stark contrast to the left’s narrative of American decline.
Yet, instead of celebrating their safe passage to a land of opportunity, Alcindor and her ilk chose to spin a divisive tale. “So the Trump admin, they’re saying that essentially these white South Africans assimilate better, and they’re also not as much of a security risk,” Alcindor whined. “That’s really causing a lot of people to be appalled, frankly.” Her remarks reek of the same elitist disdain that has come to define the liberal media’s approach to immigration—unless, of course, it aligns with their political agenda.
