Plagiarism Scandal Rocks Kamala Harris – Why Am I Not Surprised?

Kamala Harris has been plagued by scandals, but this one is different. Recent revelations show that Harris’s 2009 book, Smart on Crime, contains over two dozen instances of plagiarism, including two paragraphs lifted directly from Wikipedia. But let’s not pretend this is shocking. It’s the latest example of her lack of authenticity and originality—something I have repeatedly said since her coronation. Harris has not only copied content in her book but has also blatantly “borrowed” Trump’s major policy positions, trying to pass them off as her own.

Harris’s Plagiarism Scandal: A Symptom of a Bigger Problem

Harris’s book was supposed to establish her as a serious player in the realm of criminal justice reform. Instead, it’s become the source of yet another controversy. According to conservative activist Christopher Rufo, the book contains 27 instances of plagiarism. This includes 24 sections copied from other authors and 3 instances of self-plagiarism. Plagiarism expert Jonathan Bailey reviewed the findings and agreed that the copied passages are problematic. Even Bailey admitted, “While this reflects sloppy writing, it’s still clear plagiarism.”

Why does this matter? Because it’s not just about copying words. It’s about credibility. If Harris can’t even be original in a book that outlines her core beliefs, what does that say about her leadership? Conservatives have long criticized her as a “chameleon,” adapting to whatever position is convenient for her politically. This latest scandal just adds fuel to that fire.

Copying Trump’s Major Policies

Harris’s plagiarism goes beyond her book; she’s even copied Trump’s policies. Let’s break down some of the key areas where Harris has borrowed from Trump:

1. Border Security

Trump’s strong stance on securing the U.S.-Mexico border was a signature policy during his presidency. He pushed for increased border patrol funding, tougher enforcement, and the infamous wall. Harris, once a vocal opponent of these measures, is now singing a different tune, advocating for “increased border security measures” to deal with the surge of illegal crossings. This shift isn’t a coincidence—it’s political plagiarism as her far left beliefs are not “popular”.

2. Trade Policies with China

Trump took a hardline approach to China, introducing tariffs and pushing for fairer trade practices. Harris has started to echo this stance, talking about “standing up to China” and “protecting American jobs.” Just a few years ago, she criticized Trump for his trade war, calling it “reckless.” Now, she’s all about “getting tough” on China. Why? Because it’s popular, and she’s desperate to win over swing voters with policies she never intends to implement if elected.

3. Economic Empowerment of the Working Class

Trump’s “America First” agenda focused on bringing jobs back to American soil, cutting taxes, and supporting working-class families. Harris, in her bid for the presidency, has started advocating for similar economic policies. Suddenly, she’s interested in tax relief for the middle class and supporting American industries. It’s as if she’s taking pages directly out of Trump’s economic playbook, only she lacks the conviction to actually implement them effectively.

4. School Choice and Education Reform

While Harris has not openly supported school choice in the past, recent statements suggest she’s considering “alternative education models” to help underserved communities. This sounds eerily similar to Trump’s school choice advocacy, which aimed to give parents more control over their children’s education. Once again, Harris is adopting Trump’s policies because they resonate with voters—voters she’s failed to connect with on her own merit.

5. No Taxes on Tips

Trump announced a plan to eliminate taxes on tips, arguing it would put more money in the hands of hardworking service industry employees. Just weeks later, Harris adopted the same policy position, claiming it as her own. But let’s be honest: Harris has never shown interest in genuinely supporting the working class, so this sudden adoption of Trump’s proposal is nothing more than a strategic grab for votes.

Why Harris’s Plagiarism Matters

Plagiarism is more than just copying words—it’s a sign of a deeper issue: a lack of original thought and authenticity. This scandal comes at a time when Harris is positioning herself as a serious presidential contender, who can “turn the page”. But how can voters trust someone who’s copying both from Wikipedia and her political opponent? It’s not just about words on a page—it’s about her entire  persona.

The New York Times initially tried to downplay the plagiarism scandal, framing it as a conservative attack led by Christopher Rufo. However, the story gained traction when Jonathan Bailey, the plagiarism expert consulted by the paper, admitted that the situation was “more serious” than he initially thought. Bailey’s full review of the dossier prepared by Dr. Stefan Weber revealed that Harris and her co-author duplicated long passages nearly verbatim without proper citation.

Harris’s defenders argue that plagiarism isn’t always malicious, claiming that it could be the result of sloppy writing. But let’s be clear: if a conservative figure had done this, the media would be demanding their resignation. Harris’s plagiarism is more than just a mistake—it’s a pattern of behavior that reveals her willingness to cut corners and take shortcuts.

Harris’s Credibility Crisis

This scandal is more than just a political headache for Harris—it’s a credibility crisis. Harris has always struggled with authenticity, and this scandal only reinforces the perception that she’s not genuine. Whether it’s plagiarizing Trump’s policies or copying from Wikipedia, Harris has shown that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to appear competent, even if it means stealing ideas.

If Harris wants to be seen as a serious leader, she needs to do more than copy Trump’s policies and other people’s work. She needs to offer real solutions and original ideas. But if history is any indicator, don’t hold your breath.

Final Thoughts

Kamala Harris’s plagiarism scandal isn’t just a political gaffe—it’s a symptom of a deeper issue. She’s a politician without real convictions, borrowing from Trump’s playbook while pretending to be an advocate for progressive policies. Conservatives have seen through Harris’s charade for years, and this latest scandal only confirms what we already knew: Kamala Harris is a fraud.

Her plagiarism shouldn’t surprise anyone. She has never had an original thought and is just an imaginary person created by a PR firm and the national media.
