President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, in a move that shocked absolutely no one paying attention. After all, when you’re wrapping up a presidency riddled with questions about integrity, why not toss one more log on the fire? In a last-minute act of executive grace—or should we call it political nepotism?—Biden wiped his son’s slate clean of any offenses committed between 2014 and 2024.
This all-encompassing pardon, announced late Sunday night, came after months of denials from Biden that he’d ever interfere in his son’s legal troubles. Yet here we are, watching a president who once declared that “no one is above the law” quietly demonstrate that some people—namely his family—most certainly are.
A Pardon for the Ages: Selective Justice at Its Finest
In his statement, Biden claimed his son was “treated differently” by the justice system, painting Hunter as a victim of “raw politics.” Hunter’s convictions on multiple charges—ranging from falsifying federal gun forms to failing to pay millions in taxes—were apparently just too much for dear old Dad to bear. Biden characterized these crimes as minor missteps blown out of proportion because of his son’s “serious addictions.”
But let’s be real. How many Americans could falsify a federal gun form, evade $1.4 million in taxes, and walk away with nothing more than a presidential pardon? The answer is simple: zero. Hunter’s legal troubles were tied directly to actions he took while living a lavish lifestyle funded by questionable international dealings—dealings that allegedly involved his father’s political connections. Yet, Biden would have us believe that Hunter is the victim here.
Trump’s Take: A Stark Contrast
President-elect Donald Trump wasted no time calling out the hypocrisy. In a pointed Truth Social post, Trump asked whether Biden’s sweeping pardon for Hunter might also extend to Jan. 6 protesters, many of whom remain in prison. The rhetorical jab highlighted the glaring inconsistency in Biden’s approach to justice.
Trump’s incoming team also issued a statement promising to restore fairness to the justice system. Steven Cheung, Trump’s incoming communications chief, described Biden’s pardon as part of the broader weaponization of the Department of Justice. “That system of justice must be fixed and due process must be restored for all Americans,” Cheung declared. Unlike Biden’s version of justice, where family ties trump the rule of law, Trump’s team vowed to ensure equality before the law.
The Hypocrisy of “No Interference”
For months, Biden assured Americans he would not pardon his son. “I am not going to do anything,” he told reporters following Hunter’s gun conviction. Yet, as the clock winds down on his presidency, Biden’s words have proven as empty as Hunter’s tax filings.
The president’s claim that he avoided interfering with the Department of Justice doesn’t hold water. Pardoning his son, while conveniently blaming “raw politics,” is interference at its peak. It’s a masterclass in saying one thing and doing another—a hallmark of the Biden administration.
What This Means for Justice in America
The implications of this pardon stretch far beyond Hunter Biden. Biden’s actions send a clear message: If you have the right connections, accountability is optional. For the average American, this is a slap in the face. Ordinary citizens who commit similar crimes face harsh penalties, not get-out-of-jail-free cards signed by the president.
Even Democrats are struggling to spin this move as anything but self-serving. Biden’s attempt to frame his decision as an act of fatherly compassion falls flat when juxtaposed with his promises to uphold the integrity of the justice system.
Final Thoughts
Hunter Biden’s pardon is the ultimate example of how political elites play by different rules. President Biden’s decision is a disgrace to the rule of law, showcasing his willingness to prioritize family loyalty over justice and fairness. This isn’t just about Hunter Biden; it’s about a justice system that is increasingly being manipulated to serve those in power.

Free him and let the J6ers waste away for 4 years. I hope Trump pardons they all.
Rules for thee, not for me? Why should I follow any rules laid out by elites, no point. I hope President Trump’s DOJ investigates and can prove the 2020 WAS STOLEN, therefore making biden E.O.s and pardon’s NULL and VOID since then biden would be a ILLEGITIMATE President.
The biden crime/slime family. Cesspool waste.
Politically for Trump, this was a great move by FJB. This takes away ANY criticism of Trump when he pardons and releases all of the J6 political prisoners once he takes office on January 20th.. One wonders though, why such a sweeping pardon that extends back ten years for ‘any alleged crimes that may or may not have been committed’? Was that a strategic move on FJB’s legal team to insulate him and other family members from possible corruption charges stemming from their decades-long influence peddling, bribery and money laundering crime spree? This is why Trump needs to ‘Drain the Swamp’.
Just disgusting is all I can say. How about the Jan 6th people being unfairly punished by the Biden Gestapo. How about the millions upon millions from insider trading made by Nancy Pelosi, will that be taken care of before he leaves the White House? She not only used insider trading info, she wrote the damned laws!!!!!!
None of this is going to change until the politicians are held to the same legal standards that the rest of us are. Biden and Pelosi are just the tip of the iceberg. Corruption runs deep in Washington. No one is going to be held responsible because those that commit the crimes have absolved and insulated themselves from prosecution.
The pardon was to save himself. Hunter would have exposed all the dirty doings his father from investigations into his criminal dealings. Hunter would have exposed all.
