During the Maui wildfires in 2023, where over 100 people tragically lost their lives, Biden stood in front of a search-and-rescue dog wearing protective boots and joked, “That’s some hot ground, man.” If you’re thinking that’s bad, remember, this is the guy who’s famous for saying, “Come on, man!” like that’s supposed to be a coherent defense. His Maui blunder was widely criticized, but apparently, no lesson was learned. Here we are again, watching Biden fumble through one of the most basic tasks of leadership: showing empathy.

Is it cognitive decline? Maybe. Is it just Joe being Joe? Also maybe. Either way, it’s infuriating to see a man in such a critical position of power consistently fail to rise to the occasion.
