Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, appeared on Fox News to discuss the language of President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter. Turley stated that the language used in the pardon is historically “unprecedented” and shows a “breathtaking act of contempt for the American people.”
Turley explained that previous pardons, including former President Richard Nixon’s, have never included such broad language. He described Biden’s pardon as “literally pardoning his son for any crime that he may have committed during these years” and compared it to a “blank check.”
He also pointed out that even if state charges were brought against Hunter, the statute of limitations has already run out on many of the potential offenses. Turley criticized Biden’s pardon as a “breathtaking act of contempt” and said it has happened multiple times during his presidency.
Biden’s statement announcing the pardon claims that Hunter was “singled out” by his political opponents and that the investigations into his son’s actions were politically motivated. However, evidence from Hunter’s recent gun and tax charges suggests otherwise. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also stated that she and the president did not lie about Hunter’s potential pardon and continue to stand behind the Justice Department.
Biden’s statement also attempts to paint Hunter as a victim, stating that he has been “five and a half years sober” and has faced undue attacks and selective prosecution. The president also claimed that there is “no reason to believe it will stop here” and that he hopes Americans will understand why he made the decision to pardon his son.
The truth is, Hunter’s actions were not targeted or politically motivated. He was found guilty of buying a gun while under the influence of drugs and for filling out false information on a purchase form. He also faced significant charges for not paying his taxes. These are serious offenses that would result in consequences for anyone, regardless of their last name.
However, Biden’s decision to pardon his son shows a lack of accountability and sets a dangerous precedent. It sends the message that some individuals are above the law, as long as they have powerful connections. It’s clear that Biden’s presidency is riddled with conflicts of interest and disregard for the American people.
Joe Biden pardoned his son because both he and his son were involved in his criminal activity and by pardoning his son, he’s also pardoning himself. This should not stand up in the justice system of the United States!
It has to be a conflict of interest because it covers the time Biden was VP and he was selling his ass then So if the whole thing must be stopped then his ass is in the clear He found out that was the only way to keep himself out of jail but I think there are a few things that have not happened yet So we will see if the Biden crime family gets away with it I mean Biden is not getting away with it He will be a stumbling idiot lying to himself until death and then he is going to hell
I personally feel that pardoning should not be done by the president alone; it should go through Congress just as any vote/law has to be voted on. How do we know that Bidfen wasn’t pressured into this? This is wrong. We all know that Biden isn’t in his right mind, and we also know that when he tried to run again, his family pushed him to do so.
And now he is talking about pardoning Chenney, Fauci and pencil neck whos next? Biden claims his son was picked on and what do you call what you did to Trump with all the false indictments? This administration sucks should never of been in the White House!!
