Pastor Says His Family Was Targeted at Home

Australian pastor Andrew Sedra says his family home was attacked Thursday night by four left-wing LGBT activists after his address was leaked publicly online. According to a post from Sedra’s X account, two of the people were hooded, the group cut off electricity to the home, and they attempted to get inside. Sedra’s account said the activists threatened to kill and destroy the family, and even knew family members by name, including the pastor’s newborn baby, whom they allegedly mentioned repeatedly. That is not protest. That is the kind of behavior normal people used to call intimidation before the political class started needing a flow chart to identify common sense.

Threats Reportedly Included Several Family Members

Sedra and his wife, Noleen Sedra, are associated with Echo Church, a Pentecostal church movement. The source report says both have spoken against homosexuality, along with other issues such as abortion and the rise of Islam in the West. The report also says other family members, including brothers Martin Sedra and John Sedra, and sister-in-law Noleen Sedra, received verbal threats from the activists. Sedra’s account said the threats included statements such as “I will f***ing kill you,” “I will take you motherf***ers down,” and “I know where you live and I’ll be at your doorstep every night.” Those are not debate points. They are threats, and if the facts are as reported, authorities should treat them that way.

Coptic Background Adds a Serious Context

The Sedra brothers come from a Coptic background, and the source report notes their family faced persecution in Egypt before coming to the West. That detail matters because many people came to Western nations believing they would be free to speak, preach, and raise their families without mobs showing up at the door. Whether one agrees with Sedra’s preaching or not, no political or activist group gets a special permission slip to threaten a man’s wife, relatives, or newborn child. Free speech does not mean freedom from disagreement, but it also does not mean critics can cut power to a home and allegedly try to force their way in.

Sedra’s account said authorities have been contacted and that the family is awaiting further instructions from Australian police for their safety. The post also thanked God for protection and asked for prayers as the family decides its next steps with “wisdom and discernment.” That is a measured response after a frightening report. The public should be able to expect a clear answer from law enforcement when activists allegedly cross the line from chanting slogans into threatening a household. Political passion is one thing. Showing up at a private home after an address leak is something else entirely, and decent people should not need a party label to understand the difference.
