Joy Over A Tyrant’s Fall
Ana Navarro said she cried tears of joy after news that Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro was taken down. On The View, she said people in South Florida, especially Venezuelans, Cuban Americans, and Nicaraguan Americans, saw it as a huge day. That part is not hard to understand. Maduro’s rule helped turn a rich country into a place marked by fear, hunger, and mass flight. Navarro called him a dictator who abused the Venezuelan people for 25 years, and for once she was describing the right villain. Even a broken clock gets a win now and then.
The Ugly Cost Of Socialism
Navarro also pointed out what matters most: Maduro’s regime left behind expropriated property, hostage-taking, and a wrecked economy. Millions of Venezuelans fled the country, with about eight million now living as exiles around the world. That is what socialism does when it gets real power and no one stops it. It promises equality, then delivers shortages, corruption, and government control with a smile for the cameras. Venezuela should be a warning label for every American who still thinks big government can do no harm. Spoiler alert: it can do plenty.
Trump Gets The Blame Anyway
Of course, Navarro could not leave well enough alone. Even while praising Maduro’s downfall, she took another swipe at President Trump, accusing him of lying and attacking how the capture was handled. She also warned about Trump talking about oil, U.S. companies, and restoring order, as if a nation that got gutted by a dictator should be more worried about bad optics than actual recovery. That is the modern left in one sentence: celebrate the good outcome, then complain about the man who helped make it happen. If Trump cured cancer, they would probably demand a hearing on his tone.
What Navarro Said Out Loud
Navarro admitted what many on the left hate to say. Maduro was a criminal tyrant, socialism destroyed Venezuela, and the United States succeeded where global institutions failed. That is a blunt truth, and it should matter more than the usual cable news drama. Instead, Navarro tried to hold two thoughts at once: celebrate freedom, then lash out at Trump on cue. Conservatives should notice the pattern. Left-wing media types often cannot praise success without adding a hit piece, like a reflexive allergy to common sense. The man of the hour is still Trump, whether the pundits like it or not.
