Hasan Piker defends Singham funded Marxist activists despite federal scrutiny

Piker Defends Singham-Linked Activists

Hasan Piker showed up at a protest outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark and quickly made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Marxist influencer called people tied to financier Neville Roy Singham’s activist network “wonderful people” and insisted their work was “totally above board and totally legal.” That is a bold line to take while federal eyes are already on the group, but Piker seemed more than willing to carry water for the far-left crowd around him.

The Singham Money Trail Keeps Growing

Singham, an American Marxist tech millionaire, has pumped about $285 million since 2017 into nonprofits that have helped organize loud, anti-ICE street protests across the country. Those efforts have not exactly been a quiet book club meeting. Activists tied to the network have been linked to demonstrations in Minneapolis, New York City, Los Angeles, New Jersey, and other places, all while pushing a hard anti-American message that makes normal citizens wonder who exactly these groups think they are helping.

Federal Scrutiny Now Reaches Cuba Travel

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has expanded its review of activists connected to travel to communist Cuba, including people and organizations tied to Singham-funded groups and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans. Fox News Digital reported that OFAC sent Piker and CodePink an administrative subpoena tied to a March convoy to Cuba, along with requests for financial, logistical, and communications records. Piker said he had not been personally served and acted surprised by the whole thing, which is a convenient posture when the government is asking questions and the answers are not exactly self-flattering.

Piker’s Reach Makes Him A Political Player

Piker is not just some random guy with a webcam and a hot take. He has millions of followers across Twitch, YouTube, and social media, and he has become one of the most visible voices on the American left. He has promoted Democratic Socialists of America candidates, appeared alongside them, and helped sell socialist politics to younger voters who live online. In other words, he is not a bystander here. He is part of the machinery, cap and all.
