House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) led a congressional delegation to Poland and Ukraine over this past weekend.
As of this visit, Pelosi is the most senior official from America to make the trip to see the war-ravaged nation in Eastern Europe in the wake of Russia initiating a full-scale invasion just over two months ago.
The legislator stated in a release that the delegation has a “profound and solemn visit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and in that meeting, they “conveyed respect and gratitude” for his leadership, along with “our admiration of the Ukrainian people for their courage in the fight against Russia’s diabolical invasion.”
“Our Members were proud to deliver the message that additional American support is on the way, as we work to transform President Biden’s strong funding request into a legislative package,” continued the statement.

While visiting Poland, Pelosi and her team continued “meetings with U.S. senior officials to be further briefed on the humanitarian tragedy caused by Putin.” They also met with American soldiers with the 82nd Airborne Division that is currently stationed in Poland. They went on to talk about “the importance of the U.S.-Polish partnership and the centrality of the NATO alliance in working to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine and to counter Russia’s unlawful aggression.”

As stated in Pelosi’s statements, this visit takes place just a few days in the wake of Old Uncle Joe requesting that Congress approve a $33 billion aid package to support Ukraine. That money is reportedly split as $20 billion is meant for weapons, $8.5 billion to fund the Ukrainian government, and $3 billion for food and other humanitarian purposes.
Additionally, the Biden administration is also slated to send over almost a hundred new secretive suicide drones to the Ukrainian military as Russian military forces are supposedly exposed after regrouping in the eastern region of the country. These drones, the Phoenix Ghost, were designed by the U.S. Air Force and manufactured by Aevex Aerospace and are made to quietly fly over a target area in the skies of Ukraine searching for enemy targets and will engage them by flying directly into the target and detonating its internal warhead.
The chief spokesman for the Pentagon, John Kirby, stated that the system was designed “largely, but not exclusively, to attack targets.”
“It can also be used to give you a site picture of what it is seeing, of course. But its principal focus is attack,” claimed Kirby. “Its purpose is akin to that of the Switchblade, which we have been talking about in the past, which is basically a one-way drone and attack drone. And that’s essentially what this is designed to do.”
