Why I Will Vote for Trump: Pragmatism!

It’s obvious to my readers who I will support in the upcoming election. However, I wanted to give a pragmatic overview of my thought process to share with anyone interested in understanding my choice. This article is not about emotional appeals or partisan loyalty. Instead, it’s a practical analysis of the choices we face and the impact these choices will have on America and the world. I encourage everyone to share this article to foster a more reasoned and practical discussion.

The Importance of Pragmatism in Voting

The presidential election is not a popularity contest. It’s about choosing the person who will be the best steward of America. We need a leader with conviction, someone who stands for something and doesn’t simply sway with political winds. Both Trump and Harris have their approaches, but their policies and methods of governance are starkly different. To make an informed decision, we have to strip away the hyperbole and focus on who will best serve the country’s interests.

The Binary Choice

In this election, as in most, we have a binary choice. The candidate who wins will profoundly impact our nation. Both parties often practice hyperbole and vilify the other side, but it’s essential to recognize that neither Trump nor Harris intends to destroy America. I’m sure they both love their country, but they have vastly different visions for its future.

Evaluating the Candidates

No one will agree with everything either candidate says or stands for. Critical thinking and independent research from various sources are vital. It’s essential to look beyond campaign ads and rhetoric to understand the core policies and principles each candidate represents.

Why I Am Voting for Trump

I will be voting for Donald Trump, not because I like him personally—in fact, I often dislike his articulation and demeanor. I believe he is his own worst enemy and far from a paragon of virtue. However, my vote is based on his policies and their alignment with my vision for America.

Trump’s Policies: Common Sense and Traditional

  • Lower Taxes: Trump advocates for lower taxes, which I believe stimulate economic growth and provide more opportunities for all Americans. His Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 reduced the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%, encouraging businesses to invest and hire more workers. This policy aimed to make the U.S. more competitive on a global scale, leading to economic expansion and job creation.
  • Secure Borders: He emphasizes the importance of border security to protect national sovereignty and public safety. The construction of the border wall and the implementation of stricter immigration policies aimed to reduce illegal immigration and enhance national security. Trump’s administration also increased funding for border patrol and enforced existing immigration laws more rigorously.
  • Tough on Crime: Trump’s administration has prioritized law and order, which is crucial for maintaining societal stability. Initiatives like Operation Legend, which aimed to reduce violent crime in cities, exemplify his commitment to public safety. Trump also signed the First Step Act, a bipartisan criminal justice reform bill that aimed to reduce recidivism and provide inmates with a second chance.
  • Energy Independence: He supports policies that promote energy independence, reducing reliance on foreign oil and ensuring national security. Under Trump’s administration, the U.S. became a net exporter of energy for the first time in decades. His policies favored the expansion of fossil fuel production while also promoting clean coal technology and deregulating the energy sector to boost domestic production.
  • Foreign Policy of Strength: Trump believes in peace through strength, a doctrine that has kept America out of new wars and maintained global stability. His administration brokered historic peace agreements in the Middle East, known as the Abraham Accords, and pursued a tough stance against adversaries like Iran and North Korea. Trump’s approach aimed to project American power and deter potential threats through a strong military presence.

Contrary to mainstream media narratives, Trump is not a racist, nor homophobic, and supports religious freedom. His policies are rooted in common sense and tradition. Under his leadership, we saw a thriving economy and no new wars until the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Harris’s Policies: Ideological and Unconvincing

  • Social Issues: Harris strongly focuses on social issues, championing abortion without limits and advocating for LGBTQ rights. While important, these are not national security or economic imperatives. Her stance on abortion includes support for repealing the Hyde Amendment, which restricts federal funding for abortions, and advocating for unrestricted access to reproductive healthcare.
  • Energy Policy: Her energy policies are, in my view, detrimental to both the U.S. and the world. Harris supports the Green New Deal, a comprehensive plan to address climate change by transitioning to renewable energy sources. While the goal may be noble, the implementation could lead to significant economic disruption and job losses in traditional energy sectors. Eventually, we will have no choice but to more towards renewables, but we need a practical long term plan that doesn’t devestate the ecnomy and global security.  Her policies embolden our enemies economically which leads to global instability – which we are witnessing as I write this.
  • Border Security: Harris has been completely ineffective as the Border Czar, supporting policies that encourage illegal immigration. Her stance includes opposing the construction of the border wall and advocating for a more humane immigration system. However, the lack of clear policies to address the surge in illegal crossings raises concerns about national security and resource allocation.
  • Climate Change: She views climate change as an existential threat and supports aggressive, potentially irrational policies. Harris has proposed measures like rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement and setting ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. While addressing climate change is important, the proposed policies must balance environmental goals with economic realities.  She has always been agains fracking, now that she is the nominee, she miraculously has changed her stance.  I don’t believe her.
  • Economic Policies: Harris advocates for higher taxes, student loan forgiveness, and even taxing unrealized capital gains (not sure how that’s even possible) — policies that could devastate the economy. She supports increasing the corporate tax rate and implementing wealth taxes, which could discourage investment and hinder economic growth. Her plan for student loan forgiveness aims to alleviate debt burdens but lacks a clear funding mechanism.
  • Socialism: Her leanings towards socialism are contrary to American core values. Harris has expressed support for policies like universal healthcare and free college tuition, which align with socialist principles. These proposals, while well-intentioned, would lead to increased government control and reduced individual freedoms. Her lack of electoral success and experience further disqualify her, in my opinion.

Final Thoughts

As a financial conservative and social moderate, I find Trump’s policies align much more closely with my beliefs and what I consider best for America. This election is not about personal likes or dislikes but about pragmatic decisions that will shape our country’s future.

I urge you to share this article and engage in a reasoned discussion about the issues at hand. We need to look beyond the emotional rhetoric and focus on who will be the best leader for America.

Camel-face loves America? What a joke! Not only did she advocate bail for violent criminals to burn and loot in Minneapolis but in the 2019-20 primaries and to this day she wants to punish whites and force us to pay reparations for slavery which was abolished over 150 years ago while she and the other leftists loonies act like it happened only 10 minutes ago.

“Critical thinking and independent research from various sources are vital.”

I agree. But critical thinking is no longer being taught. Hasn’t been for a very long time. Public education at all levels is about telling you what to think, not how to think. So, in a country where this basic skill is no longer taught, where does that leave us?

you are absolutely correct. Our educational system has been hijacked into an indocrination system. That’s why this election is so critical, another 4 years of this lunacy would be devastating
