Biden Still Plans To Attend Correspondents’ Dinner Despite Fauci Skipping Out

Normally, the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner held in the nation’s capital pulls in a crowd of around 2,500 elite politicians and media personalities for a black-tie event including dinner and some comedy. The event has leaned dangerously far-left for quite a long time, which is the reason that former President Donald Trump refused to attend the event throughout the entire four years he held office.

However, Old Uncle Joe, despite being 79, is slated to attend the entire event and party it up.

On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki officially confirmed that Biden will be in attendance at the event being held at the Washington Hilton, which is the same place where former President Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981.

“He has made the decision that he wants to attend, in a safe way, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to show his support, showcase his support for a free press,” claimed Psaki.

Going along with what seems to be her norm now, Psaki just could not resist her urge to try and take shots at Trump while on the subject.

“That does stand in stark contrast to his predecessor, who not only questioned the legitimacy of the press on a nearly daily basis, but also never attended the dinner, I don’t believe,” continued the press secretary. “So he felt that was important and made a risk assessment to do that in consultation with his doctors and healthcare team.”

Psaki went on to state that Biden will possibly be wearing a mask and will not be present while everyone is eating. “And we also took steps, including the fact that he’s not attending for the eating portion of the dinner,” stated Psaki. “And he’ll be there for the program, which includes a number of speakers, the presentation of scholarships, as you know, and of course his speaking and his roasting – where he will be on the menu, as he likes to say – [Daily Show host] Trevor Noah is speaking.”

Despite the festivities, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top U.S. immunologist, has made the choice to not attend the event citing concerns about COVID-19. Fauci did attend the Gridiron Dinner on April 2nd, which ended up being classified as a superspreader event that caused 80 of the 600 in attendance to become infected with the virus.

Some major names that were stated to have come down the virus were  Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, along with several other lawmakers.
