Media outlets have differing versions about what is going on with DAG Rod Rosenstein, with some saying he offered his resignation and some who claim he didn’t. On Thursday, Rosenstein will meet with Trump to decide his fate. Most media outlets sat that Rosenstein will offer his resignation directly to the president, but NBC (Never Believe our Comments) says that Rosenstein will refuse to resign if asked to.
That makes little sense because if you are going to be fired, it’s better to resign because it’s easier to explain to new prospective bosses. But, who knows what Thursday will bring?
“At the request of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, he and President Trump had an extended conversation to discuss the recent news stories,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
“Because the President is at the United Nations General Assembly and has a full schedule with leaders from around the world, they will meet on Thursday when the President returns to Washington, D.C.”
Axios published a bombshell report Monday that Rosenstein is resigning, citing sources with knowledge.
But the report was contradicted by other news outlets, including from NBC News’ Pete Williams, who reported that Rosenstein would not resign of his own accord after his off-the-cuff comments about possibly recording and removing Trump were revealed last week.
So, what will happen? Will Rosenstein be fired or will he resign or will nothing at all happen? Your guess is as good as mine and better than that coming from the lamestream press. But for the sake of the law and America, a resignation or a firing should occur.
