Border Patrol Agent Heroically Charged After Gunman Without Backup During Texas Shooting

One U.S. Border Patrol agent who had been close by to the Texas elementary school that was besieged this past Tuesday chose to forgo backup and rushed into the building to take down the assailant.

The horrid event took place when a deranged 18-year-old male rushed into Robb Elementary School and started to open fire on students and staff.

“A Border Patrol agent who was nearby when the shooting began rushed into the school without waiting for backup and shot and killed the gunman, who was behind a barricade,” read a report from the Associated Press. “The agent was wounded but able to walk out of the school.”

Bill Melugin, a correspondent from Fox News, officially confirmed the report, writing that the agent was “an elite BORTAC Border Patrol agent.”

As of writing, the total casualty count from the event had climbed to at least 2120 from the originally reported 15.

Roland Gutierrez (D), a state senator for Texas, stated to CNN that he was told by officials from Texas law enforcement that 18 of the people in that 21 were children and 3 of those were adults.

Never to let a tragedy go utilized, Democrats immediately jumped on the chance to cry out for new gun control laws, while many others attempted to make use of the disaster as a political weapon to attack their Republican counterparts.

This shooting took place in Uvalde, a city in texas that sits just about 85 miles to the west of San Antonio and sports a population of just about 16,000.

“Texans across the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless crime and for the community of Uvalde,” stated a release from Texas Governor Greg Abbott. “Cecilia and I mourn this horrific loss and we urge all Texans to come together to show our unwavering support to all who are suffering.”

“We thank the courageous first responders who worked to finally secure Robb Elementary School,” he went on. “I have instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to work with local law enforcement to fully investigate this crime. The Texas Division of Emergency Management is charged with providing local officials all resources necessary to respond to this tragedy as the State of Texas works to ensure the community has what it needs to heal.”

The representative of the district in which the horrid event took place, Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), issued a response to the ordeal by stating that he was “heartbroken” by the events that took place.

“It is devastating when our innocent children become the victims of senseless violence. We are devastated,” continued his response. “While we monitor this situation, we remember that Uvalde, while rocked by today’s events, is strong and resilient. In this time of trepidation, our office is always here to do whatever we can to help. We are family and we will continue to be here for each other.”
