In response to rocket attacks earlier this week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has issued a response with the launch of over 600 surgical strikes against their enemy, the Palestinian terrorists in Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
The IDF’s most notable recent actions against the terrorist group include taking out a Hamas terror tunnel, intelligence and security buildings, eliminating an unknown, but large, number of terrorist soldiers, and taking out swathes of top officers that control the terrorist group.
These strikes in retaliation from the IDF follow the firing of over 1,500 rockets by the Palestinian terrorists into Israel that resulted in the killing of at least seven people and the wounding of possibly hundreds more.
This past Wednesday evening, top Israeli defense officials met, discussed, and set in place a plan to “intensify military attacks” targeted at the terrorist attacks. This was stated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier on in the day.
“The campaign is still far from over,” a cabinet member stated to Israel’s Ynetnews. “Whatever we don’t do now, we will have to do in six months or a year from now.”
“This will not end in the next few days,” stated the cabinet member. “Israel will not stop and has no interest in stopping. It is all moving in the right direction. We will act until they admit that opening fire was a mistake, just as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah did after the Second Lebanon War in 2006.”
The official went on to state that Israel was not finished with its current campaign of surgical airstrikes targeted at the terrorists, but once they had completed the campaign if they do not surrender, Israel plans to initiate the launching of a ground offensive to root out and destroy any remaining threats. Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman, Spokesperson for the IDF, stated that all options were still on the table and that multiple plans were being put together by the IDF to cover a wide variety of possible options.
“The army will continue to attack to bring a total, long-term quiet,” Benny Gantz, Minister of Defence, stated this past Wednesday. “Only when we reach that goal will we be able to speak about a truce.”

Early Wednesday morning, the IDF taunted Hamas after the Israeli Air Force successfully completed numerous strikes that lead to the termination of a large number of Hamas intelligence officials. “Our fighter jets, with the ISA, neutralized key figures of Hamas’ intelligence: Hassan Kaogi, head of the Hamas military intelligence security department & his deputy Wail Issa, head of the military intelligence counterespionage department,” the IDF stated. “Looks like our intel was better.”
Through the use of social media on Tuesday, the IDF highlighted the other top Hamas terrorists that it had successfully terminated in precision strikes.
“We just killed the commander of the Hamas anti-tank missile unit, Iyad Fathi Faik Sharir,” the IDF stated. “He was in charge of carrying out anti-tank missile attacks on Israel. Our aircraft are currently striking additional terror targets in Gaza.”
“This is the moment that the IDF & Israel Security Agency carried out a targeted strike against Islamic Jihad commander, Samah Abed al-Mamluk & other senior members of his unit,” the IDF tweeted. “They were among those responsible for hundreds of rockets fired at Israelis.”
