Washington Man In Custody After Saving Daughter By Killing Alleged Sex Trafficker

A man out in Washington state has been arrested after police discovered the body of his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, who has allegedly sold her to a ring of sex traffickers based out of Seattle.

As reported by KREM 2 News based in Spokane, police officers responded to a call back on the 22nd of October in regards to an abandoned car with a horrid smell coming out of it. The outlet went on to report that someone had called 911 once they discovered the abandoned car, which was a 1991 Honda Accord, next to his home. He went on to inspect the vehicle and upon opening the trunk of the vehicle he discovered the horribly decomposed body which was the source of the horrid smell.

Authorities showed up on the scene and then confirmed that they were in fact the remains of a human. The victim in the car was finally identified as a 19-year-old male, and the suspect in the case was a 60-year old man who was arrested on the 29th of October.

As stated by police forces in Spokane, the suspect discovered back in October of 2020 that his young daughter had allegedly been forcibly sold into a sex-trafficking ring based in the Seattle area. Authorities stated that he was able to gather the information that seemed to indicate that his daughter’s then-boyfriend, the current victim, may have been the one who instigated the sale of his daughter.

The father went on to state in the court documents that were able to be gathered by KREM 2 that she had been sold for roughly $1000. He and his fiancé then made a trip down to Seattle and made efforts to rescue the young girl. The pair then made the trip back to Spokane, where she was then admitted to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

A press release from the police stated:

In November 2020, [the suspect] learned his daughter’s boyfriend was going to be at a location in Airway Heights, WA. [The suspect] waited for the victim and confronted the 19-year-old as he arrived. During that encounter [the suspect] abducted the victim, tying him up and placing him in the trunk of a vehicle. [He] subsequently assaulted the victim by hitting him in the head with a cinder block and then stabbed him repeatedly, causing his death. After the homicide, [the suspect] drove the vehicle to a remote area in North Spokane County and abandoned the car with the body still inside. The vehicle remained at that location until it was moved in October 2021 by a 3rd-party and driven to Spokane. At this point it is not believed the 3rd-party knew the body was in the trunk. The vehicle, with the body still in the trunk, was abandoned at the Everett location.

The statement stated that the suspect “was taken into custody by law enforcement without incident.”
