The White House found itself as the focal point for an extreme level of criticism this past Friday evening in the wake of its extremely weak response to the statements from communist China issuing threats against the U.S. of shooting down House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) plane if she tries to pay a visit to Taiwan.
The threats against Pelosi crop up due to plans for her to depart for a tour extending through Asia that includes stops in Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.
Hu Xijin, a Chinese propagandist editor of China’s jingoistic state-run Global Times, issued a response to the news surrounding the travel plans from Pelosi by issuing a threat on social media. Hu is known to be a former officer in the Chinese army, a longstanding member of the Chinese Communist Party, and holds the title as the unofficial mouthpiece of the communist country, able to state what many higher officials within China want to say, but often must refrain.
“If US fighter jets escort Pelosi’s plane into Taiwan, it is invasion,” explained Hu. “The PLA has the right to forcibly dispel Pelosi’s plane and the US fighter jets, including firing warning shots and making tactical movement of obstruction. If ineffective, then shoot them down.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre found herself the target of a seemingly uncomfortable line of questioning from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy as part of a press conference held on Friday concerning whether Old Uncle Joe had issued a good enough response to the threat.
“An official who is associated with Chinese State media is suggesting that if Speaker Pelosi tries to go to Taiwan that her plane could be shot down,” stated Doocy. “Does the president have a response to that?”
“I know you’re asking specifically about the rhetoric that we’re hearing from China. But as it relates to the speaker’s travels, it’s something that we’re just not going to speak to. Right now, that’s a hypothetical. We’re just not going to speak on her schedule,” answered Jean-Pierre. “As we have said multiple times, we give advice and guidance to any members of Congress where they travel … But again, I’m not going to speak to a hypothetical.”

“Low as my opinion of the Biden White House is, I’d have expected their response to a question about a hostile foreign power SHOOTING NANCY PELOSI’S PLANE OUT OF THE SKY to be something stronger than ‘if she dies, she dies,’” stated National Review senior writer Dan McLaughlin via social media. “They failed at Americaning.”
“There are no words to express how shamefully the Biden White House has caved, catered and capitulated to China,” stated Stephen Miller, the former senior adviser to former President Donald Trump. “The damage to our power and prestige is colossal.”
