Teamsters President Sean O’Brien has called on Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to “step aside” following Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat in the presidential election. O’Brien, who stood by the Teamsters’ decision to make no endorsement in the election, criticized the focus on social issues over economic issues during what he describes as an “Economic election.” In an interview with “Your World” host Neil Cavuto, O’Brien urged the Democratic Party to refocus and reclaim the support of working-class Americans.
O’Brien did not speak at the Democratic National Convention in August, but he did address the Republican National Convention in July. He explained that the Teamsters, which includes both Democratic and Republican members, wanted elected officials to prioritize the needs of working Americans. O’Brien called for “results, not excuses” and said that both Democrats and Republicans have a “great opportunity” to address the issues facing the country.
During the interview, O’Brien also took aim at Pelosi and Schumer, saying they may need to step down as leaders of the Democratic Party. He suggested that they take a page out of Joe Biden’s book and retire, in order to make room for new leaders who can better represent the party. O’Brien emphasized the importance of focusing on economic issues, such as providing opportunities for families, rather than solely on social issues.
As a union leader, O’Brien believes that the priorities of the working class should be the top concern for politicians. He expressed disappointment with the current state of the Democratic Party and urged them to take a hard look at where they have gone wrong in connecting with American voters.
In the end, O’Brien’s message is clear: it’s time for a change in the Democratic Party. The Teamsters’ decision to not endorse either candidate in the election serves as a reminder that Democrats have lost touch with the working class. With four more years ahead, there is plenty of time for the party to re-evaluate and make changes in order to regain the trust and support of the American people.
He hit the nail right on the head. Most Americans are fed up with social issues. I am not saying there is no place for social issues but they are not a priority of the majority of the American people. Unless it directly affects your family most people have little interest. DEI is ridiculous we saw that with the inept people put in positions they were not capable or experienced to handle by the present administration. It’s not that we are insensitive to these issues it’s just not a priority
Look, Teamster O’Brien has lost touch with the Rand & File members, most of the bosses do. The rank and file is sick and tired of the union bosses of all unions, sending their money to politicians that give lip service and nothing else. The rail way workers got the best raise they ever got back 2 years ago and Biden A Democrat cut off our oil, let the Fed raise Interest rates and they knew this would cause run away inflation. There 5 % pay raise gotten eaten upped by 100% inflation, they lost 95% buying power. It’s a fact and it takes no genius to figure this stuff out. Get rid of your unions, with all the labor laws we have unions are not necessary any more, there really squandering away your hard earned money for their own pleasures.
The Dems will never change. They won’t “connect” with the American people. They won’t change their leftist agenda. They will, however, learn to lie to us better and try to fool more people. Hopefully we have finally woke up to their evil plans…
The dems couldn’t repair,
What was never broke,
So they broke it themselves,
But it went up in smoke.
They can’t fix their own problems,
So they just make them worse,
While blaming it on others,
To hide their own curse.
Sounds to me like loud mouth Sean O’Brien is pinning away for his old Democrat Party. He still hasn’t learned that the Dems are a crooked and corrupt Party that does not put Americans first. He’s a Democrat through and through. Maybe he should think of stepping down along with Schumer and Pelosi.
