Ocasio Cortez Chimes In On Texas ‘Heartbeat Law’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)  chimed in on the newly signed into law Texas “heartbeat” law, which in effect bans abortions after there has been cardiac activity found in the fetus which normally takes place at the sixth week of pregnancy, naming the measure a prime example of “rape culture” and a targeted attack on all “menstruating people,” which is a new “woke” term made up to say biological women.

This past Tuesday evening while on Anderson Cooper’s CNN program, Ocasio-Cortez stated first that Greg Abbott, the Republican Governor Of Texas, was “deeply ignorant” of the female anatomy and reproductive process as a whole and that the new law was very emblematic of “rape culture,” which is a theory that all men have a deep-down need to control women and inherently attempt to express this need via actions and laws that try and control women’s reproductive choices.

Ocasio-Cortez, seemingly in spite of her apparent thoughts that Abbott’s newly signed law was harmful to women, just could not bring herself to use the term “women,” forcing herself to take the roundabout method to skirt the “transphobic” concept of immutable biological sex by using the phrase “menstruating persons.”

“I don’t know if he is familiar with a menstruating person’s body. In fact, I do know that he’s not familiar with a female or menstruating person’s body because if he did, he would know that you don’t have six weeks,” she stated, seemingly in reference to the concept that pregnancy is dated from the start of a woman’s last menstrual cycle, thusly making “six weeks” of pregnancy, which is normally when cardiac activity is actually able to be found in a newly developing unborn child, is actually that child’s fourth week of life and just two weeks after the woman’s missed period.

in the face of attempting to make the point that women would be very notably affected by the new “heartbeat law” but unable to actually bring herself to be able to use the term “woman,” Ocasio-Cortez trundled on.

“I’m sorry we have to break down Biology 101 on national television, but in case no one has informed him before in his life, six weeks pregnant means two weeks late for your period,’” she stated. “And two weeks late on your period for any person — any person with a menstrual cycle — can happen if you’re stressed, if your diet changes, or for really no reason at all. So you don’t have six weeks.”

Ocasio-Cortez then proceeded to flat out ignore the idea that a “menstruating person” who was experiencing a two-week-late period could use an at-home pregnancy test or get a far more comprehensive exam at any local clinic as a way to rule out stress or diet.

Overall, the term, “menstruating person” refers to transgender people and any who state that they are “non-binary,” meaning that they may be biologically female but do not identify themselves as either “male” or “female.” Any women who have taken the plunge to transition to male and those who have chosen not to call themselves by one of the gender binary roles, the theory states, could still have periods and get pregnant, but are not, in fact, “women.”
