Muriel Bowser, the Democratic Mayor of Washington, D.C., has recently hurled accusations at a pro-life activist this past Friday of “tampering with fetal remains,” and failing to deal with orders from lawmakers to go through with the autopsies on the bodies of a found shipment of aborted babies taken from a DC abortion clinic.
The D.C. politician made reference to Lauren Handy, a member of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), who was taken into custody and indicted by the FBI (along with a group of eight others) this past week over “obstructing patients and providers of a reproductive health services facility” back in October of 2020.
Bowser labeled this as “extremist anti-abortion activity” throughout a recently penned letter to Republican Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford. He had pushed lawmakers into calling on the D.C. politician and the entire Department of Justice earlier on this past week to carry out autopsies on the discovered bodies of five aborted babies that PAAU has claimed they intercepted when the clinic in question was trying to quietly ship the fetal remains to Curtis Bay Medical Waste Facility.
“In response to your letter of April 5, 2022, regarding the indictment of Lauren Handy of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising for extremist anti-abortion activity in the District of Columbia in 2020, and relatedly, her claim of responsibility for tampering with fetal remains as reported last week, we refer your questions to the United States Department of Justice,” stated Bowser in a recent Friday response to Lankford.
“The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is in consultation with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia on both matters,” she stated. “The above referenced indictment and Ms. Handy’s claim of responsibility for March 30, 2022, and MPD’s discoveries are, potentially, serious violations of federal law.”
“The investigation is ongoing,” she tacked on.
There have been no further comments from the office of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
“Mayor Bowser’s letter comes just after her endorsement from pro-abortion extremist group Emily’s List as she pursues re-election,” stated Handy
“The mayor and her pro-abortion collaborators view me as a problem that they can quickly sweep away just like they do to so many others in the DC community,” she stated. “Despite these attacks I will continue to defend the unborn, the houseless, and all people in the margins.”
Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) also penned and sent out a letter this past Friday to the FBI and the Department of Justice that called for an investigation concerning whether the abortions performed on the preterm babies were in violation of the law.
“We are gravely concerned by allegations brought forward that suggest a preborn baby underwent a partial birth abortion at the Washington Surgi-Clinic in Washington, D.C.,” wrote out the pair of Republicans in their letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
“We demand that you conduct a comprehensive investigation on the circumstances surrounding the deaths of each preborn baby,” they stated.
