Uncle Joe’s second in command, Vice President Kamala Harris, has reportedly detoured and made an unannounced visit to Walter Reed Medical Center this past Sunday. She claimed the visit was for a “routine doctor’s appointment,” as reported by Fox News.
The surprise visit follows quickly in the wake of Harris meeting with a group of Texas Democrats who fled the state, and their jobs, as a ploy seeking to deny Republican lawmakers quorum, The event seemed to be a shot at trying to prevent Texas from passing a litany of bills seeking to target voter integrity, abortion, the ability of biological males to compete against female athletes, and the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Texas schools.
Oddly enough, three of those same Texas Democrats later went on to test positive for COVID-19.
This unexpected visit by the Vice President brought on a bevy of speculation that Harris required either treatment or testing as a result of her meeting with the Texan Democrats, but officials at the White House would not issue comment on the matter and Vice President Harris does not appear to be under any quarantine, forced or otherwise.
Symone Sanders, a spokesperson for the Vice-President, issued a statement to the media this past Sunday stating that Harris had not had close enough contact with the Texas Democrats to have any sort of issue with infection of COVID-19. It has also been reported that the vice president is also already fully vaccinated against the disease.
“Based on the timeline of these positive tests, it was determined the Vice President and her staff present at the meeting were not at risk of exposure because they were not in close contact with those who tested positive and therefore do not need to be tested or quarantined,” Sanders stated as part of an interview with Fox, “adding that Harris and her staff have been fully vaccinated.”
As we now know, three of the Democrats from Texas that fled the state, in order to stop Republicans from getting a successful special legislative session and force the GOP to toss out their voter integrity bill, showed test results that showed that they were positive for COVID-19.
“Friday night, a Member of the Texas House Democratic Caucus tested positive for COVID,” stated the Texas House Democrats in a release. “Saturday morning, two additional Members, each of whom are also fully vaccinated, tested positive on a rapid test.”
The Texas Democrats are currently “in touch with public health experts in Texas to provide additional guidance,” as reported by Politico. “Our caucus will follow all recommendations from public health experts as we continue our work.”
