DeSantis Takes Biden Admin To Court

Ron DeSantis, the Republican Governor of Florida, has officially filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration on behalf of the entire state of Florida. In the suit, he claimed that the “ideological” stance that the Biden White House seems to be taking is a “destructive and illegal” catch and release border policy that will only lead to making the citizens of Florida more vulnerable overall.

In statements made Tuesday alongside Ashley Moody, the Florida Attorney General, at Fort Meyers, DeSantis pointed out that the policy from the Biden administration, which has caused a record number of illegal immigrant encounters with United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in recent months, along with over a million total encounters in 2021, a “total disaster.”

DeSantis made note of and targeted the Biden administration’s unofficial “catch-and-release” policy, which seemingly lets the captured illegal immigrants who claim to want asylum to stay within the United States until such a time as their claims can be heard in an immigration court, which can take months to schedule in. The new policy seems to be a complete 180 to the trump administration plotted solution to the problem, which forced the prospective asylum seeks to stay across the border in Mexico until such a time as their hearings could be held.

DeSantis goes on to claim that Biden’s policy has only resulted in sending unscreened illegal immigrants out into Florida, seemingly on purpose.

“I think this is intentional, I think this is ideological,” stated DeSantis as part of a conference held on Tuesday. “They want a massive illegal migration into this country.”

“It’s very clear the open borders is the Biden Administration policy. They want a massive, illegal migration into this country,” added DeSantis. “They are farming out people all across communities across the United States, including here in Florida.”

“This is absolutely a crisis. It’s a crisis of the administration’s own making,” he went on to say. “This continued release of folks on a very mass scale and unprecedented scale will saddle states and local governments with health, financial, economic, and public safety costs.”

He then made reference to the border numbers, seemingly suggesting that multiple thousands of illegal aliens are now successfully hiding inside the United States.

Along with the suit, DeSantis is also taking localized action as well.

This past Tuesday, as well as filing the suit aimed at the Biden administration, the Governor “also issued an executive order that prohibits all Florida agencies under his purview from facilitating illegal immigration into Florida, unless otherwise required by federal or state law, and requires the collection of information from state officials on the scope and costs of illegal immigration in Florida,” as reported by a local Miami NBC affiliate.
