Beto O’Rourke Has Once Again Chosen To Switch Sides For His Own Gain

Texas gubernatorial hopeful Beto O’Rourke (D) has flipped his script yet again. This past Tuesday he stated that he did not think that any Americans who already owned AR-15s or AK-47s should “be able to keep them.”

This is the second time the O’Rourke has pulled a 180 with his thoughts on the issue as just a few months ago he stated that he had finally given up the issue that had been the focal point of his failed 2020 presidential bid: gun confiscation, especially in regard to AR-15s.

“I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone. What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment. I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now, ” he stated this past November while out campaigning to be the governor for the state of Texas.

As stated in a report published by Fox News, O’Rourke’s second script flip took place just before the deadly incident that took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday of last week — also bringing it up in two separate instances in town halls across Texas a week prior.

“I think we are fools to believe anything other than that these weapons of war will continued to be used with greater frequency against our fellow Americans,” O’Rourke stated while attending a town hall in Abilene back on the 21st of May. “It’s why I’ve taken the position that I don’t think we should have AR-15s and AK-47s in civilian life. They belong on a battlefield.”

While speaking to a group of veterans attending yet another town hall in San Angelo that same day, O’Rourke spoke about the idea of confiscation by saying that he did not even think that people who legally owned their AK-47s and AR-15s “should be able to keep them.”

“My kids are my conscience. And I may win or lose this race, but I’m always going to have to face them and answer for what I’ve done or failed to do when I had the chance to do something,” he stated, in regards to his own kids. “And I just took the position that may not be politically popular or maybe too honest that not only should no one be able to purchase an AR-15 or an AK-47, because they’re designed to kill humans and that high-impact, high-velocity round will just tear up everything inside you. You’ll bleed out before we can get you back to life.”

“But I don’t think that the people who have them right now in civilian use should be able to keep them,” he stated.

O’Rourke’s current stance, one that seems to once again be in favor of forced confiscation, has reverted back to the original stance he had at the start of the campaign trail back in 2019 when he exclaimed to crowds, “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47!”
