Ted Cruz decided to take a Harvard professor to school on Twitter Friday, debating the origins of America.
Professor of American Studies at Harvard, Joyce Chaplin, tweeted in regards to the Paris accord stating that since the international community “created America” that America should give back to the international community. Uhhh….
“The USA, created by int’l community in Treaty of Paris in 1783, betrays int’l community by withdrawing from #parisclimateagreement today,” she wrote.

Cruz is no stranger to the Ivy League, having attended law school at Harvard, slammed back calling the idea that America was created by a treaty “sad” that a Harvard professor doesn’t know about the Declaration of Independence, the Revolution War, and the Constitution.
Just sad. Tenured chair at Harvard, doesn't seem to know how USA was created. Not a treaty. Declaration+Revolutionary War+Constitution=USA. https://t.co/tQALvjdkTs
Cruz, however, didn’t even have to finish as a random Twitter user who kept up with the debate had the PERFECT comeback when he said “Your argument is like saying someone isn’t born unless they’re issued a birth certificate”.
@tedcruz Joyce, your argument is like saying someone isn't born until they get issued a birth certificate.
