Did The Florida Shooter Just Confirm His Mental Illness?

Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old who committed mass murder at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has reportedly told investigators that “demonic voices” in his head urged him to carry out the massacre.

According to his public defender, Melisa McNeil, he suffers from psychological problems, depression, as well as autism which “could” possibly cause the voices in his head.

According to McNeil, Cruz (who is on suicide watch) is fully aware of the situation at hand and of his actions, saying that he is “filled with regret” and “broken” after the incident.

“He’s sad. He’s mournful. He’s remorseful. He is fully aware of what is going on, and he’s just a broken human being.”

Too late, Cruz. You’re going to burn for this here on Earth and in the afterlife.

Meanwhile, the Miami Herald reported that Cruz will plead guilty in the Florida school massacre if the death penalty is taken off the table. Apparently, the gunman’s legal team is focused on keeping him away from the death row.

Further, authorities have stated that they have been called to his family home 39 times, with records showing multiple emergency calls including “mentally ill person,” “child/elderly abuse,” “domestic abuse,” “missing person,” and several others.

So you may be asking yourself “but steadfast guy, so what? He’s a killer” — you’re absolutely right. Let him burn. But I’m sick of the left-narrative of how gun control could have/would have prevented this. It wouldn’t have.

Howard Finkelstein, Broward County Public Defender, stated that they are overwhelmingly saddened by the incident, but pointed out that “every system failed.”

“Because we failed to stop it, and we could have, we should not kill the person who behaved as we feared but ignored.”

Again, this is not to make some lame excuse (at least on my part) of what this young man has done. I don’t care how remorseful he is by his actions, he did it. Lock him up and throw away the key.

He’s also asking for the death penalty to be removed if he pleads guilty but… let’s face it, this guy won’t last long in prison.
